After 3 years of using the Big Bubble Barrier, more basic research is being carried out again. The HYDROTECHNIK LÜBECK team now includes students from various technical universities. As part of your master’s thesis, you will examine, for example, the hose material or the ascent speed of the bubbles.

The public sector’s interest in the further development of the bubble veil has meanwhile expired. Funding is no longer available, although the potential of bladder technology is far from being exhausted. The limit values are adhered to, but there are fluctuations in the measurement results that no one can explain.
Measurement results are depending on the amount of air, the air pressure that is put into the hoses, the nature of the ground, the current, and of course on the ramming energy with which the pile is driven into the seabed.
